First Scene- Greetings, today we will be watching the unique creature known as a college student. Look how tired they are, as they sleep on an escalator as they go to their class.

Second Scene- Next we see them staring at their phone and holding a drink, unaware of their surroundings as they walk. Studies has shown that students who do this either do it to help them stay awake or elude boredom.

Third Scene- Students are affectionate towards caffeine. It is usual to see a student holding a caffeinated drink.

Fourth Scene A- As the day goes on and the drink the student carries around diminishes, they soon start to feel exhaustion. In situations like these, the student will try to find comfortable areas to sleep at. As you can see the student, has choose to sleep at a table in this scene.

            - Other areas the student sleep at is on the floor while leaning against the wall.

- Or in a chair while trying to keep their belongings secure.

Fifth Scene- If not sleeping the student will be consuming their food supply. Sometimes the food supply can be from an actual meal or a variety of small snack as you see before you.

     - Another task they will do is find entertainment on their devices. Whether it's from watching a movie or browsing a social media sight.

     - Ah, this is one of the rare moment we are capturing, where the student is frustrated due to the lack of entertainment.

Sixth Scene- If they can not procure their entertainment, the student will move on to their other device. Hoping to connect with others. If that fails the student soon gives up.

      - Once they are done, the student slowly packs up their belongings, depressed that their break is over and depart for their class.

Seventh Scene- We have been spotted! The subject is running away! After them!

Museum Visit

During my visit to the Moma, I found interesting artwork mostly on the second floor. The photography of the buildings and rooms, piqued my interest. How the photographer was able to change the perspective of the subject. Originally I always assumed that in order to capture a picture, it needs to be well lit, in order to capture every detail. But in one photo of the backside of a naked lady, the photographer used specific angle of lighting along, with the shadows of her body in order to hide specific details. In another photo I saw was that of a building. I originally thought of it as a model of a building before I read the description. The way the camera was angled, along with there being a backdrop that only reaches a certain height of the building, which made me think that this wasn't real. Another photo I saw was the the entrance of the Notre Dame, which captured a perfect symmetrical design of the building. It's always interesting to look back and see how in the past, the form of media was black and white photography. Compared to now we have camcorders that can capture colorful moving images, along with the sounds that the environment produces. Another interesting aspect to look at is the order on how the media is produce. In the past in order to produce an image, it took hours and labor to make the image show. But now you just pop the memory card of a camera into a computer and boom, there you have it.

Relationships between shots

     The way the video is constructed is through the multiple scenes it shows. Through the two scenes, it goes back and forth between the landscapes of mountains and then to the city. Then moves on to a girl and boy waking up. Already a person can see that the shots are mirrored after one another. It's supposed to invoke a sense that these two either have a relationship or connection with one another. In the next scene, both are showing looking at an hourglass and during the music that is playing, the lyrics go "While seeing both of our hourglasses. Let's make a plan to meet somewhere that is Most far from "goodbye."" In the next scene, we see the boy and girl walk in opposite directions. The lyrics describe what the two are doing and is gonna do in the future. This also happens again when the lyrics "Everything up 'til yesterday was a prologue. Skimming through the days of old" the scene is then cut to two characters, while they simultaneously are shown growing up. It correlates showing that the two characters are growing from teenagers to adults. In another scene where the lyrics says "Dreamed of a world so far from here that's not on the map," the scene is then shown the back of the boy and then zooming into the cityscape. Then it shows the boy falling and the art style is completely changed. This cut is supposed to represent the dramatic change of the scene.
